Curriculum

The medical assistant diploma program at Concorde's San Antonio campus covers computer applications, medical record keeping, and clinical skills including blood draws, vital sign measurement and more. You’ll also learn to collect and prepare samples for lab testing. You can complete this program in as few as nine months of study.

The medical assistant diploma program courses cover topics including:

  • Healthcare legal & ethical considerations
  • Common diagnostic tests & sample preparation
  • Taking patient vital signs
  • Basic first aid & CPR

Through the Medical Assistant program, taught by instructors with real-world experience, you'll develop the skills needed to provide administrative support and basic clinical care in a variety of healthcare settings. You will learn computer applications, how to take vital signs and samples from patients, and more. Where do Medical Assistants Work

A career as a medical assistant (MA) can be a great entry point into the healthcare field. Some MAs work to support the daily operations and patients that visit a healthcare practice.
