Today, we lead the cattle drive south, to the heart of Texas and Big 'D.'

There, we meet Erin Henry and continue our series highlighting and getting to know Concorde's Campus Presidents (CPs). Henry has been Campus President at our Dallas campus for a little more than two years and held similar positions at various other career colleges.

In this installment of "Get to Know Your CPs," we learn a little about Henry's strong pitching arm, love of a certain hit TV show and being tabbed as an "Energizer Bunny."

Enjoy!

What's been your journey to becoming a Concorde CP?

I was lucky to find my passion early in my career. My first career was in social work. Through meeting so many families in need, I decided that I wanted to make the move to higher education where I felt I could make the most positive impact on the futures of others and the futures of their families.

My first position was serving as an Admissions Representative (insert choose school blog link), and I knew immediately that I had found my true passion.

There is nothing better than seeing students succeed. I had a wonderful campus president that served as my mentor and helped me go on to become a Director of Admissions, where I could reach even more students through all of my employees.

From the Director of Admissions, I went on to serve as a Regional Director of Admissions and then Campus President. It is true joy each day. Having the ability to help students, faculty and staff succeed each day is what drives me to be at my absolute best.

What's it like being a market president?

The opportunity to serve as a Market President has allowed me to look beyond the individual campus.

We take a collaborative approach in serving our health care community employment needs. Our goal is to become the school that employers call first.

You recently received the "Energizer Bunny" Award. What's the secret energy sauce that keeps you going?

I always have been a high-energy person, but being passionate about we do each day is what keeps me going.

As I am winding down for the day, I take an introspective look at interactions, decisions made and results. That introspective look combined with a natural curiosity allows me to learn something new each day from those around me.

What's the best piece of advice you were ever given?

Don't be afraid to take risks. Most people avoid risks, but the risk can be an opportunity to do something great.

What's a favorite TV show, a recent movie you've seen or book you've read?

My favorite TV show is Modern Family; I love to laugh. Second, to that is documentaries; I love to learn.

What is a hidden talent, favorite hobby or little-known fact?

I played competitive softball throughout my childhood. As a freshman in high school, I was the starting varsity pitcher and went undefeated my first season. I was named All-Area athlete in the local newspaper that year.
