Medical Assisting Associate of Applied Science Degree Curriculum
The medical assistant associate degree program at Concorde covers computer applications, medical record keeping, and clinical skills including blood draws, vital sign measurement and more. You’ll also learn to collect and prepare samples for lab testing.

Career Outlook
Primary Duties of a Medical Assistant Include:
- Taking patient histories and vital signs (blood pressure, etc.)
- Entering data into patient records
- Handling administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and calling in referrals
- Keeping supply inventories in treatment rooms and the office stocked
- Gathering blood or other samples and preparing them for laboratory tests
- Assisting doctors or nurses during examinations
- Administering basic clinical tasks, such as cleaning and dressing wounds

Financial Aid

The Shot in the Arm Scholarship
This program was created to recognize and assist bilingual students interested in pursuing their Medical Assistant education. The ultimate goal of this program is to foster education and career opportunities, while increasing the bilingual MA workforce.
The Shot in the Arm Scholarship is available to bilingual candidates enrolled or interested in enrolling in Concorde Career College's Medical Assistant Program. Funds will be awarded at the externship point of the program*. Priority will be given to students ineligible for financial aid.
Award Amount: Up to $3000 **

**Multiple scholarships of a maximum of $3000 will be awarded from a $15,000 fund and each award is a one-time scholarship. Recipients must commit to employment at ShotRX for a minimum of 6 months post-completion of their Medical Assistant Program.
