What is the difference between a medical office administrator and a Medical Office Professional?

While both roles are essentially the same position, there are subtle differences required by each employer. As a medical office administrator, you handle most medical office business and financial operations. You help make it possible for your employer to collect monetary reimbursements from patients' insurance providers, essential to the success of your employer's medical business. As a medical office professional, you work in an administrative environment performing duties such as transcription, coding, billing, word processing, filing and working with various medical-office software packages.
