Celebrating Fruits & Veggies

Did you know that September is Fruits & Veggies – More Matters Month? At Concorde, we want all of our students, faculty and associates to be healthy. You need all the energy you can get when working hard and studying in a health care program and pursuing a health care career. Fruits & Veggies – More Matters Month is all about focusing attention on eating MORE fruits and vegetables. It’s about health care awareness.

More than 90 percent of both adults and children don’t eat the amount of fruits and vegetables recommended by the latest Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the MyPlate nutrition guide. Fruits & Veggies – More Matters says add one more helping of fruits and veggies at every meal. Try something new. Educate yourself. Teach the kids. Try a new recipe. It suggests filling half your plate with fruits and veggies at every meal. All forms – fresh, frozen, canned, dried and 100 percent juice count!

Again, it’s all about health care awareness. To help with that health care awareness, here is an infographic with a lot of great information about the benefits of adding fruits and vegetables to your daily caloric intake.

“I have taken the MA program and the LVN program. Concorde is a wonderful school. There is a difference between passion and a paycheck, and most of my instructors had a passion for what they do. The program was challenging but well worth it. I love this college!”

“I am eternally grateful to Dr. Lu-Ping Gamble at the Garden Grove campus. They not only lit a spark, they lit a torch in my heart that shall burn forever! My education changed my life and has had a huge positive impact on the person I am today.”
