Jul 8, 2019
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention autism affects over 2 million individuals in the U.S. and tens of millions worldwide. To help raise awareness, April has been designated Autism Awareness Month. Events are held nationwide to educate the public about early detection, daily challenges, and available support.
To recognize Autism Awareness Month, Concorde Career College of Grand Prairie, TX participated in a campus-wide "Light It Up Blue" Autism Balloon Rally on April 9th. During the rally, the campus asked that students, faculty & staff wear blue in recognition of Autism Awareness.
Students also participated in a blue balloon release during their morning, afternoon & evening class breaks. This event signified the awareness of the disorder that affects many worldwide.
