What you can learn

Our OTA programs focus on teaching you how to help patients improve their mobility, physical strength and endurance after suffering from injury, illness or another debilitating medical condition. Curriculum is designed to prepare you to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) following completion of this degree. Coursework emphasizes the following hands-on areas:

  • Anatomical positions
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), first aid, infection control and vital signs
  • Biomechanics of joint motion, posture and balance
  • Conflict resolution and ethical dispute resolution
  • Etiology, clinical process, and prognosis of common diseases and illnesses
