Portland, OR (June 2012) - Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. announced today that the Association of Surgical Technology awarded its Surgical Technologist Educator of the Year Award to Douglas Hughes, the Portland campus Surgical Technology program director.

Candidates for this award are nominated across the country by their peers for outstanding instruction in the classroom as well as dedication to furthering the field of surgical technology. Members of the Foundation for Surgical Technology select one individual each year for this award.
In addition to Doug's responsibilities at Concorde, he serves as vice president of the Association of Surgical Assistants and is a member of the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting's CST Examination Item Writing, Job Task Analysis and Review Examination Committees.
