Concorde Career College in Aurora has been recognized by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce for outstanding contribution to the economic vitality to the city of Aurora.
“Aurora is proud of the diverse and vibrant business community,” quoted City Manager Stan Noe. “The city of Aurora acknowledges the contribution of a select few businesses annually from nominations made by the community.”
The award was presented to Concorde’s campus president, Al Short, on Wednesday, December 7, at the Chamber’s Business Awards Recognition dinner.
“Concorde does many great things to meet the needs of our community and meet our primary goals of training and finding employment for our graduates,” stated Campus President Al Short. “This is recognition that is well deserved by our entire staff.”
This is the second performance-based award received by the Aurora campus this year. The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) presented the school with its 2010-2011 School of Excellence Award during the annual Professional Development Conference. Concorde was recognized for its commitment to accreditation expectations, as well as maintaining high-levels of achievement among students.
Short added, “To be eligible for the ACCSC award our graduation and employment rates from all programs offered must meet or exceed the average rates among all ACCSC-accredited institutions.”
The fifth annual ACCSC Professional Development Conference was held in September at the Westin in Long Beach, California.
